How To Order

Orders for stock items should be placed directly with:

Suitable requisitions pads and SIMS stationery are available.  Orders by telephone or fax are welcome and no confirmatory original is required.

If you are an existing customer please login above to order online.  To become a member please register above to enable you to order online.

When you order please be sure to state:

  • Your Distribution/Customer Account Number
    Every delivery point is assigned a unique account number.  If you move you will require a new account number for your new address.  Without a new account number goods will still be delivered to the previous address.  Any change of address must be notified in writing.
  • Your order number
  • Name and address of your establishment
  • Delivery address
  • Catalogue number
  • Quantity
    New customers should complete the online application form to register with Supplies.

Units of Issue
It is important that you check the items description and unit of issue in the catalogue before ordering, for example a box of 1000 envelopes, catalogue ref E06 should be ordered as one unit.

If you have the need for repeat orders on a regular basis - please contact the Customer Services Team on 01482 879996 , alternatively use the "Favourites" icon when you log in to place your electronic order.

Payment
All cheques should be made payable to: EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE COUNCIL and sent to Supplies, Gibson Lane South, Melton, East Riding of Yorkshire, HU14 3HN.
Please ensure that your account number is endorsed on the back of all cheques.
It would assist if details of all invoices being settled accompanied your payment.
All invoices should be paid within 7 days.

Delivery

FREE DELIVERY, NO MINIMUM ORDER OR SURCHARGE ON STOCK ITEMS.

48 Hour Delivery
Our scheduled deliveries usually meet with most customers requirements, however, if your order necessitates a guaranteed delivery time, please indicate your request for a 48 hour delivery when placing your order by phone, fax or e-mail.
48 Hour deliveries apply to warehouse stock lines, ie not non-stock lines or direct delivery items, (marked with a pink code in the catalogue)


Direct Delivery
Code numbers in PINK prefixed with a ‘D’ or an ‘E’ are delivered directly from the manufacturer. Carriage charges may apply.
These items are often made to order, so please be aware that any returns could incur a handling charge.

Delivery Procedure
On delivery, you will be asked to sign your name on a PDA, a hand held computer device with a LCD screen, carried by the driver.  The PDA will display details of your order and a unique bar code label attached to each parcel, will identify your order number and the parcel number.
You will also receive a delivery note and an invoice.

Delivery Invoice – To follow items (TF)
If an item is marked ‘to follow’, your order has been recorded and the goods will follow automatically once our stock has been replenished.

Returns

Goods may be returned provided they are fit for re-issue in all respects including original packaging and are also current stock.  If direct delivered goods are returned, there will be handling charge imposed by the manufacturer.  Please be careful when ordering non-stock items, as they are not always returnable unless there is a fault.
